We know in a saturated world of perfumery, the story is often overshadowed.
At pherome we are focused on creating fragrances that reflect who we are.
Abbu lived in Iran for several years in the 1980’s but when war broke out he followed his intuition that lead him to the shores of Hamriyah Port in Dubai. In the following decade he made his name in Dubai’s Murshid Bazaar, the busy hub of Arabian perfume labels.
Abbu made a mark by manufacuring the packaging for many ittars, bukhoors and perfumes that are reknowned in the Arab world today. He always hoped to build his own perfumery one day.
Call it a cosmic wink, but we felt the need to continue the legacy our way. Pherome is envisioned from that legacy, fragrances that will embed our story in them.
Here is a photo of Abbu in front of Dubai Creek, the hub of Dubai’s trade in the nineties.
You can explore the creek and market area in the map.
Fragrances are viewed from an eurocentric lens of desiribility and aspiration.
We saw a lack of nuance in the stories behind them and we want to remold that aspiration towards creating a platform. Through which we can create refined fragrances with the articulation of design, art with our legacy. We strive to create a delight for visual, auditory and olfactory senses.
In our first collection, we collaborated with a plethora of artists on our journey to the final products. Our fragrances are created with the finest ingredients and then bottled in Dubai.
We will continue to elevate our narrative for all our future collections.
